HomeCare of Mid-Missouri (HCMM) was established as a community service agency in February 1974 and has been serving the people of Randolph County since that time. Originally incorporated as Randolph County Resource Counsel under the General Not-For-Profit Corporation Act the Board of Directors included Don Orscheln, Ruth Kimbrough, Jo Ann Schmidt, Josephine Freelin, Guy Cottingham, Marshall Blackwell, Joann McCormick, L. C. Bankhead, Joseph P. Grant, Shirley Wolverton, Fate White, Wayne Hill, Hazel Cleeton, and Bill Williams.
Randolph County Resource Council (RCRC), the forerunner agency, started as a social service organization delivering homemaker and transportation programs funded by Title XX Medicaid, plus a housing rehabilitation program through HUD in Randolph County. In addition to the state funding received, Randolph County Resource Council (RCRC) was able to secure funds from a number of different organizations including the Catholic Fund, Methodist Fund, and Presbyterian Fund. Monies from these organizations were used as a local match for the Title XX programs during the early years of operation.
HomeCare of Mid-Missouri Board of Directors has a strong commitment to provide services to not only the local community, but also other areas where the need has been demonstrated and requested. Therefore, this agency has expanded into additional counties and is continually looking for programs to better serve clients. HomeCare of Mid-Missouri has developed into a multi-service homecare agency, now serving twenty-six (26) counties of Mid-Missouri.
Much continues to change at HomeCare of Mid-Missouri. The industry of health care at home has unique challenges. With multiple services, including Home Health, In-Home, Care Link, Hospice, Palliative Care and Educational Offerings, management members work hard to stay up to date and informed on changing program requirements and the needs of those we serve. Staying current on regulations, industry changes and legislative issues are a priority. However, our top priority remains quality care for all we serve. This continuum of care is our unique way of nurturing clients at home as their needs change.
